Food Information for Ragdoll Kittens & Cats

Your breeder will have some instructions for your kitten, as far as the brand  of food to use.  As such, it is highly recommended using the same food as the breeder has brought the kitten up on.

Changing food suddenly can upset kitty’s tummy and cause loose stools.  If you wish to change the food, mix in the new food gradually.  Talk to your breeder regarding suitability of foods.

Premium biscuits are highly recommended.  (Generally, Supermarket biscuits are not recommended.)

Kitten Food
Your kitten should be on kitten biscuits until they are 9 months old. The needs of a growing kitten are far different from those of an adult cat. That’s why you find food that is formulated specifically for a cat’s age. Each recipe is designed to offer the right amount of protein, calories, and nutrients for the body based upon the cat’s size, age, and activity levels. Your breeder should provide you with samples of both kitten and adult biscuits.

Adult Food
Playfulpaws provides adult biscuits to kittens from around 6 weeks of age.  They are allowed to graze on either kitten, or adult biscuits, as desired. Adult biscuits contain a different proportion of proteins and fats than kitten biscuits
